Crows Nest National Park

Well, we had no idea when we left Roma as to where we were going.  We knew we had to be in Brisbane on Friday to stay with the Allens (ie. not of Big Red fame… Craig, Trish, Caley, Lachlan & Tommy).  Wivenhoe was an option.

We made it as far as Crows Nest National Park.  It was quiet, had a donkey water heater for showers, and we could have a fire.

There was a resident Bush Turkey who was an absolute pain… he/she was on top of the car, on top of the tent, and even on the bbq when we were cooking dinner…

The walk up Crows Nest Creek was shady, short and pleasant.  The swim in the waters at Bottle Brush pool cooling.  We even spotted some brushtailed rock wallabies bounding around on the rocks (to compliment the ring-tailed possum around our tent at night).

A nice couple of days to repack the trailer and car as this will be the last time we camp out for about a month, when we leave nanny & poppy’s down in Shell Harbour in early December!
